VENUE: Lucas Artists Programs Commons
Oakland-based artist Robin Lasser produces photographs, video, sound works, site-specific installations and public art projects, which explore environmental, health, culture and social issues especially as they pertain to women. For her Final Friday, Lasser will discuss Dress Tents, wearable sculptures that are installed, performed and photographed in the landscape─a project the artist has been working on with San Francisco-based artist Adrienne Pao since 2004. Lasser is Professor of Art and Coordinator of the Photography Program at San Jose State University.
Special Dinner & A Movie
After Lasser's presentation, guests are invited to continue the evening with a casual dinner and movie in the commons! The movie follows a project called Vorratskammer, a 15-month-long endeavor to feed 5,000 people in five days. The project is the work of Artist-in-Residence Wapke Feenstra and Antje Schiffers.
Meanwhile, culinary Fellow Niki Ford will prepare giant Muffuletta-inspired sandwiches, salad, and cookies for a casual meal to enjoy during the screening. Those who don't want dinner can still relax, watch the film, and enjoy a glass of beer or wine!
Cash payment for dinner ($15) will be taken on-site and is limited to 30 patrons. SORRY, DUE TO OVERWHELMING RESPONSE, DINNER IS SOLD OUT!
